Nora Larkin's
IRISH
 BREAD RECIPE
According to my Mother, she learned to bake when she was 17
from a lady in town who had a proper oven. Ingredients were not
that easy to find but they managed. She moved to London and did some baking there. When she came to the USA she did much baking. One of her sisters living here suggested the brandy.

5 CUPS OF WHITE FLOUR
5 TEASPOONS OF BAKING POWDER
1 TEASPOON OF SALT
1 AND 1/2  CUPS OF SUGAR
1 BOX OF RAISINS (12 Ounce)
1/2 BOX OF CURRENTS (12 oz box - use half)
2 TEASPOONS OF BRANDY
1 AND 1/2 CUPS OF BUTTERMILK

MIX ALL DRY INGREDIENTS WELL
ADD RAISINS, BUTTERMILK & BRANDY
BAKE FOR 1 AND 1/2 HOURS AT 350 DEGREES
(IN A FLOURED & GREASED ANGEL FOOD CAKE PAN)

ENJOY !
